The New York Commandery holds luncheons on the first Monday of most months throughout the year. These luncheons introduce a guest speaker discussing areas of interest to the US Navy, Marines, and naval services. Luncheons are held at the historic Racquet & Tennis Club, Park Avenue, New York City. (All events at the Racquet & Tennis Club require gentlemen to wear jacket and tie).

The RADM Samuel Eliot Morison Award for Naval Literature dinner is an annual black-tie event held by the New York Commandery which recognizes an author "who by his published writings has made a substantial contribution to the preservation of the history and traditions of the United States Navy." A committee meets throughout the year reading new books on the naval sea services. The dinner takes place in November.

In addition to the RADM Samuel Eliot Morison Award, the New York Commandery also awards top midshipmen at the United States Maritime Academy, King’s Point. The Commandery works with the college’s leadership in identifying the excelled midshipmen, who are expected to continue active service in the Navy or Merchant Marines after graduation.

The Commandery participates in other events throughout the year, many which join with such venerable groups as the New York Council, Navy League of the United States. An annual summer cocktail party at the Chart House in Weehawken has become a favorite, at which we invite our sister naval sea service organizations. The annual Holiday/Christmas party is also a popular event with our sister organizations.
